ABOUT
CARDJET PRINTING TECHNOLOGY
Fargo has developed inkjet
printers for the card printing market designed
to meet the demands of low-volume, entry-level
ID card applications
CardJet Printing Technology is a quiet and
highly dependable method of ID card personalization.
Using a specialized HP inkjet-based print
engine, Fargo CardJet Printers transfer color
and monochrome inks to specially formulated
CR-80 CardJet Cards. A thermal inkjet printing
process heats the ink, generating vapor bubbles
ejected in small drops through nozzles in
the CardJet Ink Cartridge.
Drops are precisely placed on specially coated
CardJet Cards to form text and images. CardJet
Ink bonds and dries instantly, producing full-color,
600 dpi images that run over the edge of cards.
The technology
of choice for HID prox cards
CardJet Series printers are the printers
of choice for HID proximity cards.
CardJet printers don’t have a print
head. Instead, they use an innovative print
jet that never touches the card. The result
is maximum image quality across the card’s
entire uneven surface.
Inkjet technology
has been widely accepted as a printing method
for desktop and large-format applications.
Now, it is also a viable method, and in certain
applications a preferred method, for printing
personalized ID cards. Offering ease of use,
familiarity and reliability, inkjet printing
provides an alternative to traditional direct-to-card
printing.
